Dear Friends,
We've been looking through our photos this morning, feeling nostalgic about our first summer in Missouri. It's been a wonderful time (despite the swarms of mosquitoes) to be out exploring, and as the leaves begin to turn gold, we savor each day that we have had of green.
It has been a time of making new friends, and running free!
As we say goodbye to the season of home-grown tomatoes and walking barefoot in the grass, we look ahead to a new adventure for our family. Birdsong Cottage has been for us a stepping stone, so to speak, to get us to Missouri and one step closer to finding our homestead in the country. Our lease agreement will be completed Mid-October, and we hope to have found our dream by then. Here's to hope! One thing we know is that, no matter where we are planted, we will continue to treasure the relationships of family and friends, and the simple pleasures that cannot purchased with money.
Thank you to you all of you, for sharing our adventures with us. We count you among our greatest blessings!
Love,
Marqueta and Family

I enjoy your blog and the beautiful picture you share of your family life. I know you will find just the right "permanent" home at just the right time... here is hoping it will be soon! :)
ReplyDeletePraying for that homestead for you....there is a place out there just waiting for your family I am sure :) It looks like from all the pictures you have had just a wonderful summer!! I am wondering when the weather here will start to cool down it was 137 the other day!! I am thinking it might be summer here all year long?? Here's to a Fantastic Fall!! We may have to start pretending the seasons lol ~Love Heather
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you are enjoying the book, I thought it was just the kind of thing that you would enjoy reading. I am stunned by AnneMarie's quilt. It is BEAUTIFUL and she has a good eye for colour too. Something that I find particularly hard to do with my own quilting. Is it all hand sewn? I am not sure of the concept of a Hope Chest?
ReplyDeleteBlowing a gale here in the UK..apparently the tail end of hurricane Katya?? Autumn is definately on the horizon. Have a lovely week and good luck with the house hunting. Dev x
I praying that you will find the perfect home, with a spring and plenty of wild things to go foraging for. But I'm sure wherever you and your family are planted, you will bloom!
ReplyDeleteThank YOU for including US in your adventures! It's exciting to watch someone's faithwalk... and encouraging.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Debbie
How lovely it all is! I agree with Lady Farmer! You ARE going to keep blogging, right??

Hang in there, Marqueta--I'm praying as fast as I can! lol--I will continue to pray that you and your family will know God's will for your homestead, and that you find the perfect homestead soon. Lovely photos as usual.
ReplyDeleteHello Miss Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI have been without internet for a bit during the move, and have missed visiting with you ;-)
I must say when we wait on the Lord, He surely places you! Waiting and looking is hard but sometimes we have to learn where He wants us to be, and there are lessons to go through in order to land where the Lord wills.
I am looking forward and hoping right along with you!! I can picture you on your Homestead already!!
Husband and I had to wait 16 years for our perfect place!!! (come see) And the Lord has given to us MORE then we ever imagined!!
Blessings Love and Lots and lots of HUGS, Linnie
