A Lesson from the Moonwort

Dear Friends,

I'd like to share with you a special experience that I had just yesterday. Feeling completely overwhelmed with the sheer magnitude of life at the present, I wandered outside to counsel with the Lord.

I happened by my moonwort plant (Or am I hers? I'm never quite sure!), and sat by her on our sandy path.

Plucking a few stems to savor the pungent aroma, I began making circles in the sand with a stick.

A tiny beetle happened to be crossing the path, and I placed a few grains of sand on it to see what it would do.

It began to struggle to get out, but was unable. I then rescued it with my stick and it went on its way.
(Can you see the tiny beetle in the photo below?)

Suddenly I saw myself as that beetle; buried in the obstacles that life had given it. Then I saw how God sees me: What seem to be mighty boulders in my life, to Him, are only grains of sand. He places these obstacles in my way to teach me to trust in Him above all, and to help me to grow to be more like He is. As I put complete trust in Him, I see those "boulders" for what they really are~ Just tiny grains of sand.

They say that Moonwort produces lucid dreams; in this case, I think she produced "lucid wakefulness" for me!

Blessings to you this day,

Marqueta

Psalm 46

1God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

4There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

5God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

6The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

7The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

8Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

9He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

The Reason for the Season

Dear Readers,

I'd like to share this video with you, my friends, and hope that you feel the Spirit as strongly as I did upon its viewing. I spent a few precious moments, pondering on the Savior and His great, atoning gift and all it truly means in my life, and to those I love.

(Be sure to pause the Playlist!)

May we remember to be easy on ourselves at this time of year. We do not need to impress anyone-just our Lord, and He would not want us wasting our strength on the things of this world, and ignore His great message of hope, in all its beautiful simplicity.

Love,

Marqueta
