A happy first day of spring to you! Our forecast is calling for snow for the next few weeks, making us wonder if we brought Idaho's spring weather with us this year. Never mind, all the moisture will mean lots of flowers in due time!
"Nothing much happens without a dream. For something really great to happen, it takes a really great dream."
~Robert Greenleaf
Extra days of cloudy weather give us more time for dreaming, which is what Frankie was caught doing recently (He fell asleep holding an arrow we bought him for an early birthday present)~
On a clear evening, lie on a
blanket in your backyard and really look at the night sky. Gazing at the
stars reminds us that there's more to life than we'll ever realize and
that every day brings new chances.
~Sarah Ban Breathnach
Last Friday was such a nice day, the children and I decided to sleep out on our deck under the stars (Of course, "sleep" is a term used lightly when sirens, trains, planes, automobiles, and extremely loud barred owls are your lullaby throughout the night)."Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it."
~Johann van Goethe
AnnaMarie has been amazing us lately with her painting talents; look at this box she is decorating with characters from "The Hobbit!"
"Down deep in every human heart is a hidden longing, impulse, and ambition to do something fine and enduring."
~Grenville Kleiser
We've been pulling out our Easter decorations and have been reminded of the gift of friendships, and how blessed we are to have such talented ones. Our blog friend Linnie sent us this goose egg she decorated a few years ago, and we still cherish it~
We don't know the artist behind this egg we found at a thrift store, but the cutwork on the shell is very boldly and beautifully done~
"The great opportunity is where you are. Do not despise your own place and hour. Every place is under the stars, every place is the center of the world."
~John Burroughs
May this spring bring you every blessing pertaining to the promise of new life.
Love,
Marqueta
Oh Marqueta, those eggs looks so pretty... :) Spring is taking its sweet time here in the mountains. :)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty egg...happy spring! Very good hobbit artwork! (The dvd is out today!) So cute...your son falling asleep with his arrow.
ReplyDeletemy kids used to do bow and arrow in our backyard..maybe not the safest place since my backyard backs up to a road. Same thing when my kids used to "camp out"...we live across from a big hospital...ambulances, etc...not peaceful! But if I hear a train, which is at one end of our development, it brings back childhood memories of hearing a train in our town, that was a distance away, yet the sound used to carry through the valley.
Such a lovely post, dear mami! Oh, and a happy spring to you as well. ☺ AnnaMarie's artwork is stunning! I have a splendid big sister ♥. Frankie looks so cute!! And it was loads of fun to sleep outside under the magical stars. I love you!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Audrey
I enjoyed reading the quotes you placed throughout your posts. They were very encouraging.
ReplyDeleteWe're having "weird" spring weather too. It's been slightly cool, rainy, and overcast. I think the sun is trying to peek through the clouds about now though.
I loved the decorative eggs, and your daughter certainly is developing a great talent in the arts. I wish I could paint like that, but I can't.
Blessings!
Happy first day of spring to you, Marqueta! The weather around here must not have gotten that memo! Love the picture of Frankie, it so reminds me of four little boys I used to know!
ReplyDeleteHappy First Day of Spring, Marqueta!
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring to your household as well dear sweet Marqueta. Love your post today....blessings
ReplyDeleteAwwww, Frankie!
ReplyDeleteWow... you slept OUT?
It was only snowing the other day!!
The weather must've changed a bit!
What an imagininative Mommy you are, Marqueta.
And yes, Audrey, the stars are magical, I agree.
Bless you all,
xxx Alex
I have been wanting to do eggs like this. This was really quite inspiring. I can't wait to show my daughter the Hobbit paintings, she is deep in Hobbit-love right now.
ReplyDeleteOh the things you can do with an eggshell! I miss Linnies Blogging. I see an artistic future in your daughter' life. She is showing real talent.
