Old-Fashioned England

Dear Friends,

We have found a few treasures on YouTube that we'd like to share with you today. We love learning from the old books and magazines, how people made gardens and lived self-sufficiently, but we admit that it's wonderful to have these wonderful resources on film!

We're studying England this month at home, and we learned much of domestic history, and much to apply in our own gardens and kitchen.

Love,

Marqueta

  1. So much to learn from past experiences :) We are studying England also, but because I am teaching boys, it is wars and government that we are focusing on :)

  2. I've watched the Victorian gardens series but didn't know about the wartime one. Thanks for letting me know. Now I know what I'll be watching this evening!

I feel we are going to need all this know-how.

  4. I watched this series of programmes several years ago and really enjoyed them all. There's a very homely feel to those bygone days. One thing I have noticed however is that bloggers in America seem to be a lot more inventive and self sufficient around the home than we are in England these days. Love to all the family from England, Eli x

  6. I love this sort of thing. I watched the first 10 minutes and then saved it on my you tube to watch later as I work in the studio. Gardens to aspire to, how I would love to have a garden that fed us year long!
