Where Did October Go?

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your continued friendship and prayers; we so appreciate them! Looking at the calendar today, we are amazed that there are only a few days left of this month! It certainly does feel like the end of October here, as we have snow in the forecast and it is "colder than Toby's leg outside" (as my mother would say).

Becky Button Nose will be five months old on Sunday!

In a week from tomorrow, we will go to the shuttle bus stop and pick up Mr. Graham and his father, who has happily volunteered to drive the moving truck for us. Then begins the end of our adventure living here in our Merry Hearts Cottage (we are wondering, what will our next cottage be called?). We have mixed feelings at leaving my mother and siblings, as well as all our neighbors, but we are excited to explore Missouri and see all that it has to offer.

Frankie looks so dapper these days!

This season of my life has been one of great growth~ not having my husband around, I have learned how much I really can do, when I thought I couldn't before! As Emily Dickinson says, "We do not know how high we are until we're called to rise, and then if we are true to form, our statures reach the skies." I even learned how to get to the pharmacy for AnnaMarie's insulin! :)

Good thing I have such big helpers!

I have found deeper peace than I thought imaginable, and have learned first hand (or rather, RE-learned) that no matter what we are called to do, if we have the right spirit, we will be supported, uplifted, and given direction every step of the way. How good is our God!

The girls decided to make one last doll village before the move~

I hope you will forgive me if I am not around Beloved Blogland much these next few weeks, but know that I will be thinking of and missing you!

May the Lord hold you in His almighty hands at this time of your life.

  1. Oh my dear friend, I have missed you but I have known that you had a great deal to do with packing and getting the children ready for the move.

What an adventure dear one, to be looking forward to a new beginning filled with new possibilities...oh just thinking about it must bring a great deal of excitement but also apprehension!

I moved many times since I came to this country, and every time is new, every time you learn so much about yourself and you are amazed of how much you are capable of doing. :-D

Praying that Our Lord continues to keep you calm and at peace.

He has this already planned for you...isn't this a comforting thought?

  2. Dear Marqueta,

Praying for a safe journey for you and your family. May God bless this new chapter in your lives!
I look forward to hearing about your adventures in your new home. Take care and God bless you!

  3. Oh precious baby Becky!
    October has just flown by.
Sending prayers and hugs for your family for a safe move.
    I'll miss you!

  4. Such fun times are just around the corner for you all Marqueta, I bet the children are getting very excited. Moving house and neighbourhood isn't easy but you are such a strong family you'll sail through it with a fair wind behind you and be settled in no time. Take care and love to you all (and the dolls) from the UK. Eli x

  5. Yes, where did October go? The days and months and even years seems to fly by the older we become. Wasn't it just yesterday your little Becky arrived in the world? She is adorable!
It will be so good to have your father in law with you as you travel to a new place! Extra *man hands and minds* are always comfort should the need arise for them!
    Oh, it will be an adventure for each of your family! Will the girls be keeping a journal of their travels? Brings to mind Laura Ingalls. :~}
Praying travel mercies for you all and please, dear Marqueta, write us here as soon as you are able ~ so excited for this new chapter in your life!
As to what your next cottage will be called ~ it isn't the location but the love within that sets the naming of your dear home. I think your will always have *Merry Hearts* in your little cottage!

  6. We will be praying...Can't wait to see pictures of your new home and of your new adventures...Good Bye Merry Hearts Cottage....Enjoy the Journey My Friend!! ~ Love Heather ;-)
