Herb Correction~

Hello, dear friends!

My friend "Plantain Val" pointed out that my picture of ground ivy was really "Ivy-leaved Speedwell", instead.

Here is a picture of real ground ivy~

Lucinda of Whispering Earth did a blog post on Speedwell here~

My "twin" Lynn of "A Mother's Journal" talked about her Speedwell here, too. :)
I hope I didn't confuse anyone too badly!

We hope that your weekend was quite restful, and that your week is getting off to a good start. Onward and upward!

Love,

Marqueta

  1. I think I have ground ivy. Guess I'll have to do more research. Where's Euell Gibbons when you need him?

  2. My Dear Twin, herbs can look strikingly alike--just like people. Sometimes not really even looking exactly alike as much as acting alike and touching something inside of us that speaks to us of someone else. Just like people. Do you know what I mean? Rather than confusing, you've probably actually helped clarify some things for us. I always love your herb posts. xoxoxo Lynn

  3. I have always had an interest in herbs but have never had the confidence to do much with them. I guess I am always a bit frightened about doing harm rather than good! I am trying to drink more herbal tea, but to be honest I am finding it quite a challenge. Must try harder to find a taste that I like.

Lovely sunny weather here today, blue skies and sunshine, though still on the chilly side. Balm for the soul none the less. I do hope that you are all much improved health wise. Dev x

  4. We call this Creeping Charlie and I never can figure out if it is considered a ground cover or a weed. I have tons of it and think it is so beautiful that I shall call it a ground cover.... this week.
BTW, Did your book arrive safe and sound?

  5. Hi Marqueta,
I was wondering since you are interested in natural herbs,do you have a copy of "Back to Eden" by Jethro Kloss? I have an extra copy but it is from the 70s so it is somewhat beat, and a bit yellowed. But this has always been my best "herb bible" So let me know if you would want it. ;-)I'll send it to ya.
    Love Linnie

PS Curtains are from the "Country Curtains" catalog ;-))
