Thank you for the sweet anniversary wishes! We have been busily drawing chickens and working on our next book (whew!), in addition to our new fun schedule of helping out at our local favorite thrift store three times a week (and being gifted with lots of treasures).
I drew this hen and chickens for my mother's upcoming birthday. She has been asking for years for one of her artistic children to paint her a picture to illustrate the scripture found in Matthew 23:37: "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!" I made up my mind to do it at last, and was happy to find just the right photo to draw it from on the internet (I could not find the owner of the photo, so if it is yours, thank you! ;) ).
The winner may choose with or without the mat and scripture~
(This is not a very good picture; we will have professional prints made!)
Love,
Marqueta

Okay--how cool is this? I not only have you as a pen pal and owner of one of my favorite blogs--I know you are an author and artist as well! AND you work at a thrift store. You are too cool for words. I would love a copy of the E-book or the print, either would be a wonderful memento of our friendship.
ReplyDeleteOh, and now you have once again inspired me to put my hand to the plow. I have been dithering over whether to try my han at an E-Book, and now I'm gonna have to shoot for the moon.
Just mailed you a letter about an hour ago.

Wow! You're going to draw my name? You really ARE an artist! Usually I just write my name! Well, sister... whom of course I love and cannot stop loving... I think I'll have to opt for the picture with the verse. I cannot say I know what you mean by the mat, but I suppose I will take that too, if that becomes applicable.
ReplyDeleteWould love to be entered into your giveaway

ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog for a while, and feel as if we are dear friends. I love your beautiful picture (that is one of my favorite scriptures). I am teaching a lesson to a group of women, in about a month, about caring for one another, and lifting each other. Your picture would make a perfect centerpiece for my lesson. I hope I win!
ReplyDeleteHi Marqueta~
ReplyDeleteAlthough I already purchased your wonderful book, I would love to hang your chicken print amongst my other farm animals!
I could share the book with a good friend who would love but would never splurge this way.
