The family had a fun time at the local Pioneer Day celebration, even though we were the only ones dressed up (Except, of course, for the occasional cowboy hat)~
There was Square Dancing,
Lots of green grass to run on
One of my favorite stories about our pioneer ancestors is the young girl who, while traveling on a wagon train, had to hide under blankets from the Indians, who wanted to marry her. The pioneers made a fake coffin and had a "burial" for her, since more than one brave desired her as his wife!
p.s. Here's a little story to help encourage the little ones to form good habits!
Love,
Marqueta

"The Lord has done his share of the work," said Brigham Young to the newly assembled Saints. "He has surrounded us with the elements containing wheat, meat, flax, wool, silk, fruit, and everything with which to build up, beautify, and glorify the Zion of the last days, and it is our business to mould these elements to our wants and necessities, according to the knowledge we now have and the wisdom we can obtain from the Heavens through our faithfulness".
Oh Marqueta,
