A Merry Summer to You~

Dear Friends,

It's so nice to see you today! Did you have a lovely Midsummer's Celebration? It was actually sunny and warm yesterday (albeit a bit breezy), allowing us to eat outside and set up our annual fairy feasts for the little people. We of course read "Mabel on Midsummer Day", too, to help us remember to do our duties with love.
Audrey made a maypole for the fairies~

. . . And so did Evangeline!

AnnaMarie made a beautiful walkway by the pond~

. . . And Tasha chose to enclose her feast table in a little garden fence.

Rebecca missed out on making a fairy feast, but she seems to be happy in spite of that!

May your summer bring you the pleasures and freedoms of the outdoors:

Like pine cones to learn about (and eat)~

Eating al fresco (even if you have to put up with begging felines)~

Plenty of mud for your toes~

And giant rhubarb stalks to play King with~

Love,

Marqueta

"Summer Comes"

The Little darling Spring has run away;

The sunshine grew too hot for her to stay.

She kissed her sister, Summer, and she said,

"When I am gone, you must be queen instead"

Now reigns the Lady Summer, round whose feet

A thousand fairies flock with blossoms sweet.

  1. Happy Summer to you dear friend! It looks like you are busy soaking up it's beauty! Now that we can actually enjoy the warmth! It was so cold for a time, wasn't it!?! Glad to hear you are all doing well. Baby looks so beautiful in her white dress. I love the fairy tables and things to prepare for them. I am hoping to have some fairy lands when we have our own land someday! :)
    Blessings to you dear friend,
    Emily

  2. Rebecca looks very happy indeed!

Love the Rubarb pixs we can't grow it here but I think I would be the only to eat it if it did.

Summer is so fun for kids. Barefeet runnin around, mud puddles to splash in, long lazy days, gardens to play in, and flowers to pick for mom.

  3. Marqueta !
Oh what a beautiful little Rebecca! How great is the Lord!

I love your pictures. Summer is surely here in Florida! Oh boy the heat is very still and humid. Oh it is so hot! But the tropical breezes that make its way to the central land where I live in the evenings are so very blessed. I love it so very much. I love to go outside around 7pm and feel the softness of the day come to rest on the dry and thirsty earth, soon we shall our daily evening showers more often- I love the storms too!
(I've said the word 'love' quite a bit, lol)

Thank you dear friend for your lifting words over at my blog. I haven't been able to blog much but I am trying to write about my depression- so, it sounds a little depressing at my blog home- but in 'real' life the Lord is so good and I have in fact had more better days than not so good days!!

Blessings to you and happy summer

  4. Hi Marqueta, what sweet fairy fun you all had yesterday. My fairies here in England would love to have been there. The verse at the end of your post is delightful, I haven't heard it before so I shall have to make a copy of it for my 'favourite poems' scrap book that I keep. Hoping you all enjoy the long summer ahead. Eli x

  7. Hello, friend!
Tell the girls their fairy maypoles, walkway and feast tables are enchanting! Your littlest 'sprite' seems to be pleased with the proceedings. And the Fairy King is quite majestic!
The little "Summer Comes" poem is so sweet. Where do you find such genteel prose?
    Warm Summer Blessings!

  10. Dear Marqueta,

I have visited your post several times now and still have not commented! I love that sweet baby face. My, but she is so sweet. Makes me want another one! I love all of the fancy set-ups for the fairies and the mud looks like just the thing we need around here in our 100 degree heat! Thanks for sharing the poem, "Summer Comes." Very sweet.

    Love,
    Lynn
