The Story of a Basket

Dear Friends,

Once upon a time there was a little girl (cleverly disguised as a responsible adult) who loved baskets.

One day her long-lost twin, who lives far away, sent her a beautiful, African-made basket in the mail.
It was love at first sight!

She used it right away to harvest the alfalfa that was just big enough to pick (Alfalfa contains every mineral and vitamin required for overall health) ~

It was jealously guarded by the dog as it was taken to Wolverine Canyon. . . ~

Where it would be filled with alder branches for making medicine.

It was borrowed by other members of the family. . . ~

Which was all right with the basket-loving girl, since she would be busy taking care of one of these for a while~

So the basket is getting a little rest from harvesting, but every time she sees it, the basket-loving girl is reminded of a special friend who knew how to give the perfect gift. :)

Love,

Marqueta

"Each Life That Touches Ours for Good"

Each life that touches ours for good
Reflects thing own great mercy, Lord;
Thou sendest blessings from above
Through words and deeds of those who love.

What greater gift dost thou bestow,
What great goodness can we know
Than Christ-like friends, whose gentle ways
Strengthen our faith, enrich our days.

  6. What a wonderful story Marqueta. I love the basket, its so different to any I've seen here and it's gentle enough to hold your precious tiny bundle. Sorry I missed Audrey's birthday, I do hope the sun shone for her. Thank you for popping into my newly moved blog. What a good job you did as I found your name was missing from my favourites list. Blogger is very temperamental at times and getting all the information transfered from typepad to blogger has been a nightmare at times. I hope you are all having a sunny weekend. Ours is sunny but windy and cool. Love to you all Eli x
