Gracious Gifts

 Dear Friends,

How blessed we feel to have met so many kindred spirits through the internet! Lately, we won the giveaway with the funnest drawing ever (link here) from Jeri Landers, of Hopalong Gazette. It was a beautiful print of her "How Bountiful is the Good Earth" painting.

We love the detail present in every corner~

We are going to hang in our reading nook, where it will be enjoyed for many years to come!

We were also surprised by a fun package from England, complete with a book about Jane Austen's Bath, as well as Jane Austen postage stamps (Thank you, Devina!).

A treasured gift, indeed!

The package also included paper dolls for the girls, which were quite enchanting in their forest fashion show!

Then My mother-in-law gifted me with another Marjolein Bastin book; a wonderful reminder to stop and treasure family, friends, and nature~

And last, but not least, Mother Nature gifted us with some fun mushrooms in the lawn~

We think they are edible Agaricus subrufescens mushrooms, which are supposed to smell like almonds, but we'll have to be 100% sure before they try them in a stirfry! :)

Thank you, each and every one of you, for being our friends. Your friendship, comments, and love mean so much to us in Blogland!

Love,

Marqueta

  3. What good fortune to win such a lovely print! I haven't seen paper dolls in ages. The bring back such fun memories. Although my older sister was too old to play with them, she loved to cut them out. She was always unhappy when I got a set that had punch out clothes. I love Marjolein Bastin's illustrations too. Just noticed the other day that a cute little birdhouse in our yard came from her product line. Just the dearest little house.

Anything from England must be special ~ especially when it contains something 'Jane Austen'!

  6. Hi Marqueta, glad the parcel arrived safely and it is so nice to read how much paper dolls seem to mean to all of us. We all played with them at some point in our childhood and in a world of computer games etc, it is great to see that little girls still like to play with them today. Happy birthday to the girls too. Have a wonderful weekend. Much love Devina xx

  7. Marqueta,

You certainly have been blessed with some lovely gifts this week!

The details in the painting are absolutely gorgeous! I also liked the paper dolls. They were very sweet and feminine. I'm sure your daughters will enjoy playing with those. :)

    Blessings,

  9. Dear Marqueta,

Oh what a fun drawing indeed! That is beautiful! Congratulations on winning that!

You might guess I have that same book by Marjolein Bastin! LOL. But of course.

Interesting about the mushrooms. You know to be careful. That's the key. I'm a big scaredy cat when it comes to harvesting wild mushrooms!

    Love,
    Lynn
